What is the longevity of your Exterior Oil?
It depends on many factors including amount of direct sunlight, shade, precipitation, 1-2 coats applied, and which Exterior Oil color was applied. Oil colors with more pigment have greater UV protection. We recommend your exterior oiled surfaces are assessed on a yearly basis.
Can I mix or layer Exterior Oil?
Yes
Do I have to apply a topcoat over Exterior Oil?
No. Exterior Oil is a stand alone finishing oil for exterior wood.
Can I use a pump-up sprayer to apply Exterior Oil?
Yes, just make sure you wipe off any excess within 5 minutes.
Should I apply 1 or 2 coats of Exterior Oil?
For domestic wood species, yes. 2 coats give you a richer color and better overall protection and durability.
Exotic wood species are naturally oily to begin with, therefore 1 coat is usually sufficient.
Is the Exterior Wood Oil water and weatherproof?
Exterior wood that has been oiled and maintained properly with WOCA Exterior Oil is water resistant and protected from the elements.
I have new decking. Do I have to clean with the Exterior Cleaner 1st?
Yes. Before oiling new or old wood, we recommend prep cleaning with WOCA Exterior Cleaner. Exterior Cleaner opens the wood pores for more oil to penetrate which gives the surface a richer color, more protection and better durability.
Do I have to use the Exterior Primer?
Use if you are working with extra absorbent wood that is not pressure treated.

Can I use the Exterior Oil indoors?
No. WOCA Exterior products are formulated for outdoor wood and interior products are formulated for indoor wood.

There's too much oil on the wood surface. Wipe or polish off with a white 3m polishing pad.
